Inspired by the force of Edgar Allan Poe’sA Descent into the Maelström, My Ström promises an intense experience. The setting, the historic house of painter Eugène Broerman (1861–1932), transforms into a living organism where the human body becomes river, whirlpool, and wave.
My Ström goes beyond mere observation and offers a full immersion, with taste playing a central role. The experience begins upon arrival. Visitors then move through different spaces of the house, leading to the former studio, where the core of the performance unfolds.
They encounter installations and video works by artist Charlotte Charbonnel (FR), a choreography by Gilles Polet (BE) and Arno Ferrera (CH), the prepared piano and soundscapes of Barbara Drazkov (PL), the raw force of Japanese drums and vocals performed by Tsubasa Hori (JP), and the drinkable culinary creations of Michelin-starred chefs Hugo Roellinger (FR) (Le Coquillage, 3 Michelin stars) and Willem Hiele (BE) (Willem Hiele Restaurant, 1 Michelin star, ranked best Belgian chef in the 2025 50 Best Restaurants of the World list). Each liquid extends the artistic resonance of the art works.
Far from a classical show, this multidisciplinary experience draws the audience into a whirlwind of spaces, sensations, tastes, art, and live performance.
“At the beginning of everything, a liquid.”
— Hugo Roellinger
